Though intensive courses often tend to be tedious, I always looked forward to his classes and never got bored. What I appreciate most about Yaron is that he takes such a great interest in his students. This is a very rare gift among teachers. Yaron loves to engage his students in conversations and does not lecture the entire time. Moreover, he will read your essays carefully and not only mark your mistakes but also comment on your thoughts. I found this to be extremely motivating because I felt that I was being taken seriously and not only doing some writing exercise. I highly recommend Yaron's classes to you.”

Yaron is an amazing guy and an outstanding teacher. He worked patiently with me while I struggled to learn Hebrew. It always felt like he would meet me where I was in my language acquisition, which made the learning process relaxing and fun. At the same time I felt appropriately challenged to step outside of my comfort zone and go further than I thought was possible."

Since the beginning of 2014 Ulpan Bayit, headed by Yaron Sivan, has provided us with Hebrew classes for two groups of Palestinian doctors. The staff and the teachers are extremely professional. They love teaching, and it's noticeable; they know how to encourage you to speak by using the most modern teaching techniques. We highly recommend Ulpan Bayit."

From language tourists and partners of Israelis, to univeristy students and olim hadashim, our classes comprise a large variety of students from many different backgrounds. But they all have the same mission: to learn Hebrew in the best environment and focus on developing a well formed modern Israeli Hebrew.

Our Teachers

All our teachers have the very best training: the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's program for Hebrew Teaching as a Foreign Language. Young, experienced and enthusiastic, our teachers are all passionate about the Hebrew language, be they artists or researchers.

Our
Mission

Our mission is to create a young and modern teaching environment. Unlike Municipal Ulpans, we offer small classes of eight to twelve students; progress is much faster and every student receives a fair amount of attention.

Ulpan Bayit was founded in 2014 by Yaron Sivan, an experienced Hebrew teacher who, after years of teaching in Municipal Ulpans, decided to start an up-to-date Hebrew school, using texts from Israeli media, poems, short stories... All this backed up with the Hebrew textbooks of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
